Privacy policy
SBMJ Limited, trading as Maison Pont ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you visit maisonpont.co.uk or place an order, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
SBMJ Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 15901901), registered office 5 Canon Court, Institute Street, Bolton, BL1 1PZ. We are the data controller for the personal data we collect. For any data protection query, contact sam@maisonpont.co.uk.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses.
- Order information: products purchased, order value, transaction history.
- Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers — we never see or store full card details.
- Reviews: the name and review text you choose to submit.
- Trade account details (B2B customers): business name, VAT number, company address and trade references where applicable.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and browsing behaviour collected via cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your orders and provide customer service.
- To manage trade accounts and wholesale orders.
- To send order updates and, where you have consented, marketing emails — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To measure and improve our website and advertising.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
Legal basis
We process your data to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your order); with your consent (marketing, non-essential cookies); for our legitimate interests (improving our services, preventing fraud); and to comply with legal obligations (tax and accounting).
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the shop, each processing only the data needed for its job: Shopify, which hosts the store and processes payments (with PayPal and Klarna where you choose them); Royal Mail and our fulfilment partner, who deliver your order; Judge.me, which collects product reviews; Google (Google Ads, Merchant Center and Analytics) and Ahrefs Web Analytics, which help us measure traffic and advertising. We never sell your personal data. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are covered by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and transaction records are kept for six years to meet UK tax law; marketing consents until you withdraw them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email sam@maisonpont.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
Essential cookies make the site and checkout work. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw through the cookie banner, and you can also control cookies in your browser settings.
